Bilingual Storytelling

BILINGUAL STORYTELLING WORKSHOP

Storytelling in Spanish and English bridges languages, cultures and experiences between Latino and Anglo communities. As we grapple to become a more inclusive society, the voices of all deserve to be heard. Below is an example of a recent project which concluded in the Summer of 2024. It was in collaboration with Manos Unidas Multicultural Educational Cooperative in Pittsfield MA.

A group of mostly Latina immigrant women from the community gathered for 10 weeks to tell and develop true stories from their lives. For many this was their first time sharing their stories of struggle, resilience and courage with each other and then in a final public community event. As with all life stories they vary from painful to beautiful to surprising, and everything in between.

World and Eye looks forward to the next group of bilingual storytellers.
